Filling the fuel system after installing the injection pump (Audi Q5-8R)
After installing the high-pressure fuel pump, before starting the engine for the first time, it is necessary to fill the high-pressure fuel pump with fuel (running the pump dry is unacceptable). When installing the high-pressure pump, do not allow contaminants to enter the fuel system. Remove the plugs only immediately before installing the fuel lines. The car must be filled with fuel. To fill the high-pressure fuel pump with fuel, follow these steps: Connect the Tester. Turn on the ignition. In the Self-Diagnostics mode, select "Used engine". Then select "Basic installation". Select "Checking the fuel booster pump" from the list. Press the "Start" button. The fuel pumps turn on. Let the fuel pumps run for about 1 minute to ensure that the fuel system is filled with fuel. To repeat the basic installation, turn the ignition off and on again. The basic installation will resume. After filling the fuel system, start the engine. Let the engine run for several minutes at medium speed, then turn it off. Check the fuel system for leaks. Delete error records from the event recorder. Then perform a test drive of more than 20 km, with at least one acceleration under full load, and recheck the high-pressure fuel system circuit for leaks. If there is air left in the fuel system, the engine may go into emergency operation mode during the test drive. Switch off the engine and clear the errors from the event recorder. Then continue the test drive. Query the event recorder.
