Removal the gas strut of the trunk lid 1. Gas strut. To remove, open and support the cover. Lift the retaining spring "2" with a screwdriver as shown in the figure and pull the gas support "1" off the upper ball head "3"; 2. Trunk lid; 3. Ball joint. 20 Nm. After removal, the ball joint must be replaced. Clean the threaded hole from the locking agent with a suitable tap; 4. Fastening spring. To remove the gas strut, slightly lift the retaining spring "arrow" with a small screwdriver. After completely removing the gas shock absorber, turn to the correct position for installation. The damping element should be located on the body side


Installation



Installation is in the reverse order, while the following must be taken into account: during installation, the gas strut is placed only on the ball joint.

Lift the spring "2" with a small screwdriver "1", thereby unlocking the gas strut "3", which can then be pulled off the ball joint.
