Check the service brake system for any brake fluid leaks and for proper operation.
Parking brake must be adjusted after removing the center console and parking brake trim.

Checking the adjustment of the parking brake cable consists of alternately pressing the parking brake cable lever with a screwdriver blade from one stop (Fig. 15–36) to the other (Fig. 15–37).
If during the test the cable lever of the opposite caliper moves away from the stop, the cable is too tight and needs to be adjusted.
Press the brake pedal all the way down several times.
Let go parking brake lever.

Using special key 3343, loosen the adjusting nut securing the compensator to the parking brake lever rod until both parking brake cable levers touch the stop on the caliper (see Fig. 15–34). Then tighten the adjusting nut until both cable levers begin to move. This work must be performed by two people.
Move parking brake lever three clicks.
Turn the adjusting nut securing the compensator to the parking brake lever rod until one lever on one caliper is lifted off the stop (see Fig. 15–37).
Recheck the parking brake cable adjustment.
