Low beam headlight bulb (Audi A6 C5)

Turn off the ignition.

Safety instructions
  • Halogen lamps H1 and H7 have high pressure and may burst when replaced, so gloves and safety glasses should be worn when replacing these lamps.
  • When replacing gas discharge (xenon) lamps in case of improper handling of the high-voltage part of the lamp, there is a danger to life, therefore, replacement of these lamps is not provided.


Open the hood.

To access the right headlight bulb, remove the air intake B (fig. 14.28). To do this, unscrew the two screws A (fig. 14.28) air intake mounts. Pull up the rear part of the air intake B and move it towards the center of the car.

Release the two wire clips and remove the cover from the back of the headlight.

Disconnect electrical connector 1 (fig. 14.29) from the headlight bulb.

Disconnect electrical connector 1 (fig. 14.29) from the headlight bulb.


Compress the spring clips 2 (fig. 14.29) lamp mounts and move the brackets to the side.



Remove the bulb from the headlight.

When installing, do not touch the glass bulb of the lamp with your hands.

Install the new bulb so that the flange protrusion fits into the recess in the headlight reflector.

Secure the lamp with the spring clip by snapping it into place.

Connect the electrical connector to the lamp.

Place the cover on the headlight and secure it with wire clips.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the headlights.
