Modern tires support the weight of the vehicle, absorb minor impacts from the road surface, and transmit forces that occur during acceleration, braking, and cornering.

The characteristics of modern tires - sizes, external load values, internal pressure and maximum recommended speed - are standardized to ensure interchangeability of tires during their operation.

Modern tires installed on a car provide comfort and stability when driving, control, safety and economy.

Driving comfort is ensured by a soft suspension, low noise level and smooth rolling due to the slight deviation of the outer surface of the tire from the shape of a circle.

Driving safety is ensured by a secure fit of the tire on the rim and good adhesion of the tire to the road surface.

Depending on the road conditions, passenger car tires are divided into winter, summer and high-cross-country (M+S and off-road).

Initially, new tires do not yet provide sufficient grip on the road surface; the first 100 km should be driven at moderate speed and with special care - during this period the tires "roll in". Successful implementation of this process contributes to an increase in the service life of the tires.

Depending on the design features and tread pattern of the tires, the tread depth of new tires varies among individual tire models and manufacturers.

From time to time, tires undergo durability tests during operation (which can result in punctures, cuts, tears and swelling). Foreign objects should be removed from the tire tread regularly.

To avoid damage to tires and rims, drive slowly and, if possible, at right angles over curbs and other similar obstacles.

Sometimes tires and wheels have hidden damage. Unusual vibrations or the car pulling to one side may indicate tire damage. If you suspect that a tire is damaged, you should immediately reduce speed. Check your tires for damage (cracks, swelling, etc.). If no external damage is found, drive slowly and carefully to the nearest service facility for a thorough inspection of the tire condition.

Contact of tires with oils, greases and fuels should be avoided whenever possible.

Before removing the wheels, it is necessary to make appropriate marks on them so that when reinstalling them, the previous direction of rotation of the tires can be maintained.
