Checking and adjusting the initial position of the sliding sunroof (Audi A6 C5)

Return the sunroof motor to its original (zero) position.

Close the sliding sunroof.

Remove the front interior light bulb.

Using a T25 screwdriver, unscrew the bolts of the sliding sunroof motor and remove it.

Electrical wires must be connected.

Turn on the ignition.

Select the "Hatch closed" position with the rotary switch. The engine automatically switches to the initial (zero) position and switches off.

Install the engine in this position with the sliding sunroof closed. Tighten the engine mounting bolts to 3 Nm.

Install the front interior light.

Place a pocket mirror on the cover and check the zero position by looking sideways. When the zero position is correct, the square hole of the guide link 1 (fig. 12.62) must be in line with the groove (arrow) on the guide bar 2. Otherwise, adjust the zero position.

To drive the guide link to the zero position, follow these steps:.

Remove the sliding sunroof.

Remove the sunroof motor.

Remove the side plugs.

Slide the guides 1 from back to front (fig. 12.62) on both sides.

Align the square hole on the guide of the 1 (fig. 12.62) with a groove (arrow) on the guide bar 2. This is the zero position adjustment.



Set the sunroof motor to zero position and install it.

Install the plugs.

Install a sliding sunroof.
