Technical characteristics of the Zenith 2B5 carburetor (Audi 80 B2)

Since the 1980 model year, the YP engine was equipped with a Pierburg 2B5 emulsion-type carburetor, two-chamber, with sequential opening of the throttle valves.

The carburetor has two main dosing systems of the 1st and 2nd chambers, idle systems of the 1st and 2nd chambers with transition systems, an economizer of power modes, a piston accelerator pump. The carburetor has an automatic starting device with a temperature sensor, an electromagnetic shut-off valve of the idle system, with a device for heating the intake manifold with a thermal switch.
