Removal
Caution! Risk of contamination from leaking hydraulic oil. Since the hydraulic pump starts even when the ignition is off, the battery must be disconnected. Risk of damage to electronic components when disconnecting the battery. Carefully monitor the process of removing the battery.
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Wash the outside of the hood and cover it with a protective cover. Unlock the service cover from the inside. Unlock the hood and pull it forward a little. Pull the protective cover "VAS 6011" onto the hood. Remove the hood and place it on the protective cover "VAS 6011". Loosen the vacuum reservoir by approx. 1/2 turn. The hydraulic oil level in the reservoir increases. Remove the clamp of the tube-hose lines from the gear shifter using a screwdriver.

Remove the pipe and hose line "1" and "2" from the gearshift unit. Ignore item "3". Close the open lines and branches with clean plugs from the plug set for the engine "VA.S 6122".

Disconnect the plug connector "arrow A". Unscrew the coolant expansion tank "arrow B" and put it aside with the coolant hoses connected.

Loosen the hose clamp -upper arrow- and remove the coolant drain hose from the fairing grille. Unscrew the nut "lower arrow". Remove the coolant drain hose and set it aside.

Unscrew the bolt "arrow". Remove the pipe and hose lines "1...3" as a whole from the hydraulic control unit in a downward direction.

Open lines and connections are closed with clean plugs from the plug set for the engine "VAS 6122". Mark the tubular and hose lines for right-hand reverse installation. Remove the tubular and hose lines "1" and "2" from the mounting plate by moving the sliding part "A" in the "direction of arrow 1".
Installation
Install the tubular and hose lines onto the mounting plate according to the marks made during removal.

To lock the tubular and hose lines, move the sliding part "A" to the central position "arrow 2". The notch on the sliding part and the hole in the mounting plate "arrow" must match. Install the tubular and hose lines in the hydraulic control unit and gear shifter.
