Removal
Remove the hood. If available, loosen the bracket. Remove the engine cover. Remove the sound insulation underneath. Drain the coolant.

Remove the engine coolant supply hose "arrow" from the front connecting fitting.

Unscrew the "arrow" bolts and remove the connecting nipple. Turn the thermostat clockwise by approximately 90° and remove it from the connecting nipple. Remove the sealing ring.
Installation

Installation is in the reverse order, in this case it is necessary to replace the O-ring. Clean or treat the sealing surface under the O-ring. Insert the regulator "3" with a new O-ring "2" into the connecting nipple "1". For installation, the thermostat bracket must be positioned horizontally, as shown in the figure.

Lubricate the sealing ring "2" with concentrate "G12+". Turn the thermostat counterclockwise "arrow" approximately 90°. Fill with coolant.
Tightening torques:
- Connecting nipple to cylinder block: 15 Nm
- Engine compartment cover to bracket: 5.5 Nm
