The rear view camera assists the driver when reversing by clearly displaying the traffic situation behind the vehicle on the display module of the used front display and control module for the information system "J685". The system is activated when reverse gear is engaged. The system can also be activated manually using the parking assistant button "E266" in the center console (optional). The rear view camera consists of the following components: Rear view camera "R189"; Used rear view cameras "J772"; Used Electronics Communications 1 "J794"; Steering wheel with angle sensor "G85". Other control units can be installed as an additional option. Installation of an additional number plate in a car with a rear view camera is not allowed, otherwise malfunctions in the system are possible. Troubleshooting is carried out in the "Guided Troubleshooting" mode.

Removal used rear view camera "J772"

The used rear view camera "J772" is located behind the left trunk trim. When replacing a used one, select the "Replace" function of the corresponding used one in the "Guided Fault Finding" mode. Use a tester for this. Switch off all electrical consumers. Switch off the ignition. Open the left compartment in the trunk. Remove the bracket with the "R" radio and move it to the trunk. Used rear view camera systems "J772" "32" only inserted into holder "3". Disconnect plug connectors "1" and "4" on the rear view camera control unit "J772" "2". Press the "arrow" latches outward and remove the rear view camera control unit "J772" "2" from the fastening "3".

Install

Installation in reverse order. Install the mount with the radio "R". Perform calibration.

Removal the rear view camera "R189"

The rear view camera "R189" is installed in the trunk lid handle and is rigidly connected to it. To replace the rear view camera "R189", it is necessary to replace the handle. Switch off all electrical consumers. Switch off the ignition. The rear view camera "R189" has a flexible cable. The connections to the car cable harness are in the rear lid. Remove the rear door trim. Disconnect the plug connectors "2" and "3" in the trunk lid and in the handle. The rear view camera "R189" is rigidly connected to the handle "4".
