Removal
Attention: When removing, the side body trim is damaged and must be replaced.
Gradually warm up the door trim with a hair dryer, soften the adhesive layer of the trim and remove the trim from the door.
Clean the surface of the door to be fitted with the trim, first with petrol and then with silicone remover. Wipe and dry the cleaned surface of the door.
Installation
Attention. The protective strip must be glued at a room temperature of approximately +20°C, only then will the optimal result be achieved. The car and the protective strip must be in the appropriate room for at least two hours before treatment.
Remove the protective layer 3 shortly before installation (fig. 12.66) with double-sided adhesive tape 4. Then the side panel should be glued within 90 minutes.
Apply the protective film starting from the front side.
Heat the side protective strip to +40°C with a hair dryer and press firmly, or roll with a suitable hand roller.
After gluing, the car must remain indoors for another four hours.
