Installation of mirrors

L - left mirror

L - left mirror
R - right mirror
O - neutral position of the switch
A - folding both mirrors

Before starting your trip, you should set your rearview mirrors correctly so that you can see to the rear at all times.

Manually adjustable interior rearview mirror for anti-glare protection

When the mirror is in its normal position, the lever on its bottom side should be facing forward.

Using this lever, the mirror can be moved to a different position, in which the headlights of the vehicle behind will not blind the driver.

Interior rearview mirror with automatic anti-glare function

The mirror is set to a convenient position for the driver manually. When the ignition is turned on, the mirror automatically changes its reflectivity when light hits it, for example, from the headlights of a vehicle behind.

When reverse gear is engaged or the automatic transmission control lever is moved to position R, the mirror returns to its reflective capacity.

Audi vehicles are equipped with convex or aspherical exterior rear-view mirrors.

Convex mirrors increase the field of view. However, objects in them appear smaller. Therefore, such mirrors are only of limited use for assessing the distance to vehicles following behind.

Aspherical exterior mirrors have a multi-convex surface and increase the viewing sector more than conventional convex mirrors. However, they are also only of limited use for assessing the distance to vehicles behind.

Automatic side mirrors as standard

The electrically adjustable exterior mirrors can only be adjusted after the ignition is switched on by setting the switch to the desired position to select the appropriate mirror and pressing the switch in the desired plane.

If the electric mirror drive fails, it can be adjusted manually by grasping the edge of the mirror.

Driver's side mirror with automatic reversing adjustment

When reverse gear is engaged, the mirror glass on the driver's side tilts downwards if the drive switch has been pressed beforehand. This ensures, for example, that the curb is visible when driving into a parking space. The mirror returns to its original position immediately after reverse gear is disengaged or when the switch is pressed.

Side rear view mirrors with folding function

Using the switch, you can fold the left or right mirror if necessary.

Folding the mirror is necessary, for example, when parking in a narrow space.

The folded mirror can be returned to its original position using the switch.

Attention! If the mirror is displaced as a result of external impact, such as a blow, it will fold completely. Do not return the folded mirror to its original position by force, manually. This may affect their functioning.

Side mirrors with memory function

On vehicles with a driver's seat memory function, the position of the outside rear-view mirrors is also remembered.

First, the driver's seat is adjusted to the desired position, and then the side mirrors are adjusted to match the position of the seat.

When the ignition is turned on, the outside rear-view mirrors are heated.
