Fuel injectors (Audi A6 C4)

It is recommended to replace injectors every 100,000 km.

To locate the faulty injector, place rags around the injectors and disconnect the fuel lines from the injectors one by one.

Removal

1. Disconnect the fuel hoses from the injectors.

2. Unscrew the fuel pipe connection nuts.

3. Loosen the fuel line connection nuts on the injection pump.

4. Remove the fuel pipes.

1. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the mounting clamp.

1. To access injectors 4 and 5, remove the expansion element mounting bracket.

2. Remove the injectors together with the holders. Do not unscrew the injectors separately.

Installation

3. Install the injectors in place. The injector with the needle sensor should be installed second from the rear of the engine.

4. Install bushings, clamps, washers and tighten mounting nuts or bolts to the specified torque.

1. Clean the injector installation area.

2. Install new heat shield washers with the curved side facing down.

3. Install the injectors in place and tighten them to the required tightening torque.
