Checking the timing belt (5-cylinder engine) (Audi A6 C4)

Every 30,000 km.

Execution order

1. Remove the belt covers.

2. Inspect the belt for wear, cracks or damage. Make sure the belt is centered on the pulleys. On models after 1995, make sure the distance between the marks on the tensioner is less than 3.0 mm.
