After each installation of the exhaust system parts, it is necessary to check it to exclude any stress in the system elements that could lead to cracks or noise.

1. The check is performed in a cold state of the exhaust system. The heated system must be cooled to the outside temperature.

Warning: There is a danger when lifting and placing the vehicle on stands! Therefore, please read the subsection first Jacking up a car.

3. To install the exhaust system correctly, it is necessary to make an auxiliary tool from the M10 bolt, see the illustration. Dimensions: x = 4 mm, y = 25 mm.

5. Insert the auxiliary tool through the hole (arrow on the illustration) front cross member. The flat points towards the suspension pin.

6. Align the muffler horizontally: The cross pin should be parallel to the crossbar, the dimension (X) on the left and right should be the same.

7. Place the last muffler with the end pipe horizontally in relation to the bottom of the car.

8. Front wheel drive vehicles: Move the end pipe about 5 mm in relation to the corresponding marking mark in the clamp. Marking (A), (arrow 1) applies to all vehicles except 1.6 l.

9. Tighten the clamp to 40 Nm. The bolts should be horizontal and point to the left side of the car.

10. Remove the auxiliary tool from the hole in the cross member.

11. Lower the car onto its wheels.
