At the factory, the rear pipe and 2 mufflers form a single unit. However, the mufflers can be replaced separately.

The mufflers are separated by cutting with a regular chain saw, for example, HAZET 4682. If the specified tool is not available, the cutting can be done with a hacksaw.

Warning: If the muffler does not come out of the clamp, there are two options for dismantling it: cut the pipe at a distance of 5 cm behind the clamp. Then knock off the rest of the pipe with a chisel and hammer. The second option: if you have a gas-cutting device, you should heat the clamp. This will expand the pipe, which will allow you to remove it.

Warning: Before using the gas cutting machine, cover the bottom of the car with asbestos cloth. Never heat the muffler in the area of the plastic fuel tank. There is a risk of fire. Keep a fire extinguisher at hand.

Removal when executing the central/additional mufflers as a single unit

Warning: There is a danger when lifting and placing the vehicle on stands! Therefore, please read the chapter beforehand Jacking up a car.

1. Raise and place the vehicle on stands.

1. Raise and place the vehicle on stands.

2. The muffler division point is marked with indentations. The division is made at the middle markings (arrow 2). Side markings (arrows 1 and 3) serve as indicators of the depth of pipe insertion into the clamp.

3. Place the chain of the divider around the middle markings –2– and tighten it. Roll the chain in different directions, tightening it to prevent deformation of the pipe during cutting.

4. Disconnect the muffler from the rubber holders and remove it.

Installation

5. Insert the muffler into the rubber holders.

6. A spare clamp is used to connect the pipes.

Warning: Previously used clamps must be replaced, they are not reused. Since pipes of different diameters are used depending on the car model, pay attention to the spare parts used.

7. Set the exhaust system, while referring to the subsection Removal and installation of the exhaust system.

8. Tighten the clamp to 40 Nm. The bolts should be horizontal and point to the left side of the vehicle.
