Removal
Remove the engine hood. Remove the engine cover. Remove the noise insulation screen located below, to do this, disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose. Open the expansion tank cap. Remove the noise insulation screen. Place a tray for the VAS 6208 service cranes under the engine. Remove the lower coolant hose from the Strelka radiator and drain the coolant.

Unscrew the lower bolt "lower arrow" of the coolant connection pipe.

Remove the dipstick from the guide tube. Shine the guide tube "1" of the dipstick. Remove the oil filler tube "2" from the oil tank.

Remove the upper bolt -upper arrow- of the coolant connection pipe. Turn the thermostat clockwise by about 90° and remove it from the coolant connection pipe. Remove the sealing ring.
Installation

Installation is in the reverse order, in this case it is necessary to replace the sealing ring. Clean or strip the seating surface of the sealing ring. Insert thermostat "3" with a new sealing ring "2" into the connecting pipe "1". For installation, the thermostat bracket must be positioned horizontally, as shown in the figure.

Wet the sealing ring "2" with coolant concentrate "G12+". Turn the thermostat counterclockwise "arrow" by approx. 90°. Fill with coolant.

Tightening torques:
- Connecting pipe to the cylinder block: 15 Nm
- Oil dipstick guide tube to oil filter holder: 10 Nm
Checking the Thermostat
Heat the removed thermostat in water.
