To carry out systematic checks of the condition of the ignition and fuel injection systems, or to eliminate the identified malfunctions, special measuring instruments are required. They are usually very expensive and are available only in specialized workshops. For this reason, this manual only covers the basics for performing a check on the ignition and fuel injection systems.
1. Check the condition and voltage of the battery.
2. Check all fuses.
3. Disconnect all plugs and plug connections of the respective system and then reconnect them. Check the condition and fit of plug connections and fastening of wires in the engine compartment.
4. Check the fit of the wire terminals «masses» (-), as well as their contacts.
5. Check up a condition of hoses and pipelines. Make sure there are no porosities or cracks. Tighten loose connections.
It is recommended that other checks be carried out by a specialist workshop. With experience, you can independently check the resistance of the primary and secondary windings of the ignition coils, as well as the power supply to the coils. However, we recommend that these works be entrusted to a suitable workshop.
