Drying of paint coating (Audi A6 C5)

When applying paintwork, heating the car in the dryer or its chamber is allowed within the limits of no higher than +80°C. Otherwise, the electronic control devices may be damaged.

To protect the bottom and wheel arches from corrosion, they are coated with a polyvinyl chloride compound. The polyvinyl chloride protection can be removed with a metal brush or spatula, after heating the coating to a maximum of +180°C.

Attention! When heating PVC protection above +180°C, hydrochloric acid is formed, which promotes corrosion, and harmful vapors are formed.
