Replacing external lighting lamps (Audi A6 C4)

Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting work. Do not touch the bulb glass with your fingers.

Headlights

Location of bulbs in the headlight (right headlight)

• 1. Low beam bulb
• 2. High beam bulb
• 3. Fog light
• 4. Sidelight bulb

Execution order

1. On 2.5L turbo diesel models, remove the air duct to improve air flow.



2. Release the retaining clip and remove the cover from the rear of the headlight.





3. Disconnect the light bulb connector.



4. Remove and replace the light bulb.

Sidelights

1. Remove the cover from the back of the headlight.

2. Turn the bulb holder and remove it.

3. Replace the light bulb.

Front fog lights

1. Remove the radiator grilles.

2. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the light.

3. Remove the cover at the back of the light and replace the bulb.

Front direction indicators

Removal

Execution order

1. On Audi A6 models, release the retaining clip (turn the latch 90°) and remove the light.







2. Remove the cartridge (the mounting clamp is indicated by the arrow) and replace the light bulb.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Front side direction indicators

1. Remove the side turn signal.



2. Remove the cartridge.





3. Replace the light bulb.

Rear headlight bulbs

The headlight unit is located on the body.

1. Remove the trim panel.



2. Turn the latch counterclockwise and remove the bulb holder.



3. Replace the light bulb.

Headlight unit

The headlight unit is located on the trunk lid/rear door.



1. Remove the trim panel to access the bulbs.





2. Turn the cartridge counterclockwise and remove it.



3. Replace the light bulb.

Upper brake light

Remove the lamp cover or diffuser, take out the socket and replace the bulb.

License plate light bulbs

Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the diffuser. Replace the bulb.
