Removing and installing the adjusting ring with the contact ring (coil spring/steering wheel angle sensor "G85").

Removal



Instructions: Removal and installation of the return ring with the contact ring must be done in the middle position (wheels in straight-ahead position). The return ring with contact ring, as a new part, is fixed in the middle position with a plastic clamp or a cut-off ring.


Adjustable steering column is moved all the way down and pulled out to the stop. Driver's Airbag module and steering wheel are removed.


Unscrew bolt «4» (2 pcs.). Tightening torque 0.6 Nm. Remove the steering column switch trim «1»…


Unscrew bolt "4" (2 pcs.). Tightening torque 0.6 Nm. Remove the steering column switch trim "1" upwards and unlock it at the rear at clamps "8".

Installation



When installing the upper insert, it is necessary to insert hooks "7" of the upper insert into the lower insert, turn it down and screw it with screws. Unscrew bolt "3" (2 pcs.) (tightening torque 4.5 Nm). Unscrew the Allen bolt "5" (tightening torque 5 Nm). Open the release lever to change the position of the steering wheel. Remove the lower trim of the steering column switch "3".

Disconnect the plug connector. Unlock the «arrow» latch and remove the return ring with the contact…


Disconnect the plug connector. Unlock the "arrow" latch and remove the return ring with the contact ring from the steering column switch. Removal and installation of the contact ring unit must be carried out in the middle position of the steering wheel (the front wheels are in a position corresponding to straight-line movement). The return ring with contact ring, as a new part, is fixed in the middle position with a plastic clamp or a cut-off ring. For vehicles with an ESP sensor in the return ring with contact ring, it is necessary to align the ESP sensor.
