For vehicles with diesel engines in some country versions, the heating is enhanced by an electric auxiliary heater. When a high-efficiency economical engine is cold-started at low outside temperatures, there may not be enough coolant heat to properly heat the passenger compartment with a conventional heater. In this case, the additional heater RTS built into the air conditioner will be useful. It heats the air supplied to the passenger compartment using electricity from the on-board network. Therefore, after starting a cold engine, the interior immediately begins to warm up. A positive temperature coefficient thermistor, PTC, converts electrical energy into heat. Power is supplied through two contact plates. The heat from them is transferred to the heating section, which heats the air entering the passenger compartment.
