Removing the V-belt on a 4-cylinder engine
- 1. Adjusting nut
- 2. Locking bolt
- 3, 5, 6. Bolts
- 4. Nut
1. Inspect the drive belts for cracks, fraying, tears, and separation of layers.
2. To check the belt tension, apply moderate pressure to the belt midway between the two pulleys and measure the belt deflection.
3. To adjust the tension of the drive belt, unscrew the mounting bolts of the power steering pump and the adjusting nut and tighten the adjusting bolt.
4. To replace the belt, unscrew the mounting bolts and loosen the belt tension.
