Removal the V-belt on a 4-cylinder engine

- 1. Adjusting nut
- 2. Lock bolt
- 3, 5, 6. Bolts
- 4. Nut
1. Inspect drive belts for cracks, fraying, breaks and separation of layers.
2. To check the belt tension, apply moderate pressure to the belt midway between the two pulleys and measure the belt deflection.
3. To adjust the drive belt tension, loosen the power steering pump mounting bolts and adjusting nut and tighten the adjusting bolt.
4. To replace the belt, unscrew the mounting bolts and loosen the belt tension.
