Checking the Timing Belt Tensioner Roller for the Coupled Drive (Audi A2)

Remove the engine mount. Remove the upper toothed belt cover, to do this, open the clamping clamps "arrows". Unscrew the bolts "arrows" and remove the engine support bracket "1".



Observe the position of the pointer "1" of the tension roller and press hard with your thumb on the toothed belt "arrow".



The arrow should move to the side. Remove the load from the toothed belt again.



Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation by 2 revolutions. Check the position of the tension roller pointer. The pointer should return to its original position. If the pointer is not in its original position, replace the tension roller.

Installation

Installation is in reverse order, in this case it is necessary to install the support bracket and engine mounts.
