Instruction. Even with proper installation, slight dents may appear on the fins of radiators and condensers. In this case, we are not talking about damage to parts. Radiators and capacitors with such minor damage cannot be replaced.
Withdrawal
Drain coolant. Remove the front bumper cover.
Detach coolant hose -1- from radiator by lifting retaining clip. Remove bolts -1- and -4- for radiator at bottom of fan frame.
Disconnect the connector on the horn. Remove 2 bolts -3- left and right each and remove reinforcing bar. Pry off lock washers -2-. Unscrew left and right bolts -1- and remove bumper safety bar.
Unplug connector -1- at high pressure sender -G65-. Cut cable tie -2-.
Remove outside temperature sensor -G7- -arrow- from bracket.
Press wiring harness to high pressure sender -G65- and outside temperature sender -G17- on left air duct using release lever -80.200-.
Unscrew air ducts -1, 2, 3- from rear panel.
Do not twist, bend or deform lines and hoses of the refrigerant. Remove screws -arrows-.
Turn condenser on right side of vehicle slightly forward -arrow-. Capacitor on connection side (left) gently pull forward as far as possible. Place drip tray for service cranes -VAS 6208- under radiator. Pull the radiator connections one by one out of the fan frame, while turning the radiator up or down. Remove radiator.
Installation
Tightening torques: Radiator on fan rail: 6 Nm. Capacitor on fan rail: 6 Nm. Air ducts on the fan ramp: 1.5 Nm.
Installation is in reverse order, while it is necessary to fix all hose connections with clamps of the appropriate series.
Connect coolant hose with connector to radiator as follows: Remove old O-ring -2- from coolant hose -3-. Moisten new O-ring with concentrate and fit onto coolant hose. Press the coolant hose until you hear it click into place in the radiator. Press the coolant hose in again and pull on the hose to make sure that the coupling is correctly engaged. Install the safety bar and reinforcing rail. Install the front bumper cover. After replacing the radiator, replace the coolant. Fill up the coolant.
