Withdrawal
Drain coolant. Detach coolant hoses from coolant expansion tank and lay coolant hose loosely at top.
Unplug electrical connector -1- for low coolant level indicator sender -F66-. Unscrew nut -arrow- and remove coolant expansion tank.
Lay the B+ wire loosely on the holder. Lay engine wiring harness -2- loosely on support -arrow- and press side out.
Carefully! Risk of damage to the cable rotor blocks. Do not remove the cable locks from the shift lever and intermediate lever. Removed cable locks must be replaced.
Unlock the selector cable lock as follows: Pull the safety valve on the selector cable -arrow A- forward as far as it will go. Turn the movable -arrow B- as far as it will go and lock it. Pull the shift select cable out of the cable lock. Remove cap -3- above lock washer. Shine lock washer -2- and gear selector. Unscrew the right drive shaft on the axle shaft with gearbox flange. Remove bolt -arrow- for exhaust manifold pipe.
Remove nuts -arrows-, remove exhaust gas recirculation pipe and exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -0212-pos. 2-.
Remove coolant hoses.
Unplug electrical connector -1- for coolant temperature sender -G62-. Release wiring harness at rear coolant pipe.
Place a pallet for service cranes -VAS 6208- under the engine. Unscrew bolts -arrows- and carefully pull thermostat housing with rear coolant pipe out of cylinder block.
Remove clamp -2- and detach rear coolant pipe -3- from thermostat housing -1 -arrow-.
Installation
Reinstall in reverse order, replacing gaskets and seals. round rings.
Insert the rear coolant pipe with a new seal. ring -4- into the thermostat housing. Lug -3- must be inserted into U-shaped recess -2-. Secure the coolant pipe with clamp -1~. Sealing surface under the seal. clean the ring in the cylinder head. Moisten seal. concentrate ring. Install exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -G212- and pipes for exhaust gas recirculation. Installing and adjusting selector and shift cables. Fill up the coolant.
