Warning: Do not open the cooling circuit of the air conditioner. If refrigerant comes into contact with the skin, frostbite may result.
The A/C compressor can be removed from the holder without opening the refrigeration circuit. This may be necessary in connection with the repair of other devices. In this case, the compressor is removed and suspended in the engine compartment with attached hoses.
4-cylinder petrol engine
Withdrawal
1. Remove the V-belt, refer to subsection Removing and installing ribbed V-belt.
2. Remove the lining between the engine compartment and the right wheel casing, refer to the illustration (arrows indicate mounting bolts).
3. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the power steering pump. Hang it with attached hoses from the chassis, refer to subsection Removal and installation of the power steering pump.
4. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).
5. Remove the compressor from the holder and hang on the wire to the body.
Warning: Do not hang the compressor by the attached hoses.
Installation
6. Fully insert bushing (IN) before installing the compressor in the compressor port.
7. Tighten the mounting bolts (A) torque 45 Nm.
8. Put on the V-belt, refer to subsection Removing and installing ribbed V-belt.
diesel engine

9. Remove the V-belt, refer to subsection Removing and installing the V-belt.
10. Remove the lining between the engine compartment and the right wheel casing, refer to the illustration (arrows indicate mounting bolts).
11. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).
Remove the compressor from the holder and hang on the wire to the body.
Warning: Do not hang the compressor by the attached hoses.
Installation
1. Fully insert bushing (IN) before installing the compressor in the compressor port.
2. Tighten the mounting bolts (A) torque 45 Nm.
3. Put on the V-belt, refer to subsection Removing and installing the V-belt.
