Warning: Do not open the air conditioner refrigeration circuit. If the refrigerant comes into contact with your skin, it may cause frostbite.
The air conditioner compressor can be removed from the holder without opening the cooling circuit. This may be necessary in connection with repairs to other devices. In this case, the compressor is removed and suspended in the engine compartment with the hoses attached.
4-cylinder petrol engine
Removal
1. Remove the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation a ribbed V-belt.

2. Remove the trim between the engine compartment and the right wheel housing, refer to the illustration (the arrows indicate the mounting bolts).
3. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the power steering pump. Hang it with the hoses attached to the chassis, refer to subsection Removal and installation the power steering pump.

4. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).
5. Remove the compressor from the holder and hang it on the wire from the body.
Warning: Do not suspend the compressor by the attached hoses.
Installation
6. Fully insert the bushing (B) into the compressor bore before installing the compressor.
7. Tighten the mounting bolts (A) to 45 Nm.
8. Put on the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation a ribbed V-belt.
Diesel engine
Removal
9. Remove the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation the V-belt.

10. Remove the trim between the engine compartment and the right wheel housing, refer to the illustration (the arrows indicate the mounting bolts).

11. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).
Remove the compressor from the holder and hang it on the wire from the body.
Warning: Do not suspend the compressor by the attached hoses.
Installation
1. Fully insert the bushing (B) into the compressor bore before installing the compressor.
2. Tighten the mounting bolts (A) to 45 Nm.
3. Put on the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation the V-belt.
