Power steering pump
- 1 - V-belt
- 2 - bolt, 10 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
- 3 - vibration damper. On the crankshaft

Oil specification: AUDI–G 002 000; oil volume from 0.7 to 0.9 l.
Removal
Depending on the vehicle model, the pump may be located above or below the generator.
1. Remove the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation a ribbed V-belt.
2. When the pump is located above the generator: Disconnect the suction pipe from the outlet manifold by opening the clamps.
3. Remove the pulley from the pump while holding the center bolt with a 9mm socket wrench to prevent it from turning.
4. Disconnect the hydraulic hose from the reservoir using a suitable clamp, e.g. HAZET 4590/2
5. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir on the pump by opening the clamp.
Warning: Wipe off any leaking oil with a cloth. Do not allow dirt to enter the oil circuit. For protection, cover the connections with polyethylene and rubber rings.
6. Loosen the hollow bolt for the pressure hose on the pump.
7. Loosen the bolts –1– and –2– securing the pump to the bracket. The illustration shows the pump located above the generator
Installation
8. Before installation, fill the pump with fresh oil. To do this, pour AUDI–G 002 000 oil into the pump suction pipe and turn the hub by hand until the oil comes out.
9. Clean mating surfaces and pump threads.
10. Insert the pump and tighten it to a torque of 25 Nm.
11. Place the oil reservoir hose onto the pump. The longitudinal marking (A) must match the seam (arrow on the illustration) pump. Fasten the clamp. It should lie in front of the transverse marking (B).
12. Remove the clamp from the pump hose.
13. Attach the hollow bolt of the discharge hose with two seals to the pump.
14. Tighten the pulley to a torque of 25 Nm.
15. Top mounted pump: Place the suction pipe onto the inlet pipe and secure with a clamp.
16. Put on the V-belt, refer to subsection Removal and installation a ribbed V-belt.
