Removal
Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Wash the hood outside and wipe it with chamois leather. Unlock the service cover from the inside. Unlock the hood and pull it forward a little. Remove the hood. Unscrew the water collector "1" from the ABS hydraulic module holder. Set the water collector with the attached water drain hose "2" aside.
Cut the clamp "2" and remove the cover "3" from the pull-in relay "1" upwards.
Unscrew nut "2". Where available, unscrew the jumper to the left engine mount. Remove the cover from the positive terminal. Disconnect cables "3" and "4" from the starter solenoid relay. Remove the wire holder "1". Unscrew the upper starter mounting bolt.
Remove the noise insulation screen. Unscrew the nut "2" and remove the ground cable "3" at the bottom of the starter. Unscrew the lower double bolt "1" of the starter. Remove the starter downwards.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order, taking into account that all clamps during installation must be installed in the places where they were originally installed. Connect the battery.
Tightening torques:
- Starter to engine: 65 Nm
- Terminal B+ to starter: 16 Nm
- Ground cable to starter: 22 Nm
- Holder to starter: 22 Nm
- Water collector to ABS hydraulic module: 6 Nm
