The TV equipment is a component of the MMI infotainment system. The R78 TV tuner is connected via the MOST bus to other components of the infotainment center. Control is performed via the E380 multimedia system control panel. The system has a "hybrid" tuner for receiving analog and digital TV radio stations. The communications electronics control unit 1 "J794" contains a DVD drive for playing DVD discs. Troubleshooting is performed in the "Guided Fault Finding" mode.

Removal TV tuner "R78"



The TV tuner "R78" is located behind the left trim panel of the trunk. When replacing a used one, select the "Replace" function of the corresponding used one in the "Guided Fault Finding" mode. Use a tester for this. Switch off all electrical consumers. Switch off the ignition. Remove the trunk trim panel. Remove the bracket with the "R" radio and move it to the side. Disconnect connectors "2", "3" and "4" from the TV tuner "R78--1".

Insert the protective cap for the cable plugs "VAS 6223/9" "1" into the plug connector of the MOST bus "2". Unscrew the nuts "arrows" on the bracket "1". Remove the TV tuner "R78" with the bracket (TV tuner "R78" is fixed to the bracket). On the side of bracket "2", unscrew the bolts "arrows" and move TV tuner "R78-1" back from bracket "2".



Insert the protective cap for the cable plugs «VAS 6223/9» «1» into the plug connector of the MOST…
