Structural diagram of the connection of the interface module for the telephone

Structural diagram of the connection of the interface module for the telephone

  • 1 - Antenna for telephone and radio. The connecting plug is located under the front central console.
  • 2 - VDA connector for control electronics device (interface module). The plug is located under the rear center console.
  • 3 - power source for the phone.
  • 4 - loudspeaker in the driver's door.
  • 5 - telephone microphone, in stand A on the left.
  • 6 - radio receiver.
  • 7 - Radio/telephone loudspeaker switch relay. The relay is located on the relay holder behind the instrument panel trim on the driver's side.

Models specially prepared for this purpose may have a telephone installed (radiotelephone).

To use the phone in the AUDI A3, you need your own control electronics, the so-called interface module. It ensures communication between the radio telephone and the components installed in the car via the VDA connector.

The serial AUDI telephone is connected to the specified VDA plug connection via a special interface module.

Which interface modules can be used for phones from other manufacturers should be clarified with these manufacturers. Interface modules without a VDA plug connection require a corresponding adapter (for example, Votex).
