Installing the gear shift lever
When installing the gear shift lever, ensure that the spline "arrow A" fits into the protrusion between the teeth of the shift shaft "arrow B".
Removal the cable retainer from the gearshift lever or intermediate gear selector lever
Removed cable clamps should be replaced.
Unfasten the lock of the gear selector cable "A" and the gear shift cable "B" with an open-end wrench "1" from the gearbox. "1" is a regular 13 mm wrench.
Installing a new cable retainer on the shift lever or intermediate gear selector lever
Removed cable clamps should be replaced.
Apply a small amount of polyurea grease "G 052 142 A2" to the spherical insert of the locking device of the gear shift cable "A" and the gear selection cable "B". There should be no grease on the seals of the "arrow" outside the spherical inserts.
Place the gear shift cable on the gear shift lever and the gear selection cable on the intermediate gear selection lever "arrows".
