Withdrawal
Instruction. The fuel changeover valve, which was installed before 10.2002 when the fuel temperature in the fuel return line is more than 72°C, blocks the return of fuel to the fuel tank to protect it from thermal damage. In this case, the removed fuel is sent directly to the supply line.
Remove the right heat shield in front of the fuel tank. Place the receiver under the diverter valve. Mark the fuel lines and remove them by pressing the release keys. Remove bolt -arrow-. Remove changeover valve.
Installation
Refitting in reverse order, paying attention to the following: Screw on diverter valve until valve lug -1- rests on clamp -2- as shown.
Connect fuel lines as follows: 1. Fuel supply line to engine, 2. Fuel supply line from fuel tank, 3. Fuel return line (blue) to the fuel tank, 4. Fuel return line from the fuel cooler. Tightening torque: Changeover valve clamp: 3 Nm.
