Removal
Set the steering wheel back and down as far as possible, using the entire adjustment range of the steering column. Remove the airbag. Remove the steering wheel. Removal and installation of the return ring with the contact ring must be carried out in the middle position (wheels in straight-ahead position).

Set the light switch to position "0". Press the switch "arrow 1" and simultaneously turn it to the right "arrow 2". Holding the switch in this position, remove the light switch from the switch housing "arrow 3". Disconnect the connectors. Remove the storage compartment on the driver's side.

Remove trim "1" in the "direction of the arrow". Unscrew screws "1...5". Remove the upper and lower steering column pads.

Disconnect connectors "1" and "2".

Check again that the steering column and front wheels are straight. A yellow dot should be visible in the hole "arrow 1" and both "arrow" marks should be in line.

Fix the contact ring in the middle position with the "arrow" tape.

Loosen the clamp's "arrow" screw enough to remove the steering column switch. Disconnect the steering column switch connectors.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order, while it is necessary to remove the tape "arrow".

Check whether the steering angle sensor "G85" is in the middle position: a yellow dot should be visible in the hole "arrow 1" and both marks "arrows" should be in line. Before fixing, make sure that the plug connections are clean.

Install the lower trim of the switch on the steering column. Install the steering wheel on the steering column. Measure the distance "a" between the steering wheel "3" and the switch on the steering column "2" (distance "a" = 3 mm). If the distance "a" does not match, move the switch with the lower trim along the steering column. If the distance "a" matches, tighten screw "1". Insert the upper trim of the steering column switch into the lower hooks of the trim, squeeze and screw both parts. Install the storage compartment on the driver's side. Install the steering wheel. Install the Airbag. Perform basic adjustment of the steering wheel angle sensor "G85". On vehicles with ABS/ESP Mark 60, perform a test drive of the ESP in the "basic setting 093" mode.
