Removing upholstery and cushion
To prevent damage to the upholstery, the rear seatback should not be folded further when it is disassembled than when it is installed.
1. Edging
2. Upholstery and pillow. Remove rear seat. Unlock the rear seat back. Remove the screen lock from both sides. Remove the head restraints by pressing the button on the left head restraint rail while pulling the head restraint up. The designs of the rear outer head restraints and the front head restraints are different. When removing any head restraints, mark the head restraints with adhesive tape. Remove the headrest guides. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, pry out the edging -1- around the perimeter. Remove upholstery and cushion -2-.
Installation
Install upholstery and cushion -2- in reverse order of removal.
Removing the upholstery from the pillow
1. Upholstery. Detach clips -2 from cushion -3-. Cut the wire clips -4- and remove the upholstery
2. Staples. Standard, according to the tacker manufacturer's data. Only use a cushion staple tacker.

Installation
Use clip pliers -VAG 1634/- to install new wire clips. For easier installation, move the longitudinal rods back to the first transverse rod. When installing, fasten with clamps first the transverse and then the longitudinal rods.
