Fig. 6–9. Location of the electrical connector for the engine oil level sensor (1) and the return hose (2) of the crankcase ventilation system

Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil level sensor (Fig. 6–9).

Place a container under the engine to collect the engine oil.

Drain motor oil, loosening the oil drain plug about half a turn. Place a container to drain the oil under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug completely. If necessary, apply pressure to the plug while unscrewing to prevent the oil from draining prematurely.

When the oil has completely drained, screw the plug back in.

Remove the return hose 2 of the crankcase ventilation system (see Fig. 6–9).

Remove the bolts and remove the lower section of the oil pan.

Use a plastic or wooden scraper to remove the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the upper and lower sections of the oil pan.

Fig. 6–10. Place where a 3 mm diameter layer of silicone sealant is applied to the mating surface of the oil pan

Apply a 3mm bead of silicone sealant to the oil pan mating surface (Fig. 6–10).

The sealant layer should be no more than 3 mm in diameter, as excess sealant may get into the oil and block the mesh filter.

Install the lower section of the oil pan onto the engine.

Tighten the mounting bolts first to 5 Nm and then finally to 10 Nm.

Fill with coolant.

Pour into the engine motor oil.

3.3L Diesel Engine Oil Pump Drive Chain

Remove the front cover from the cylinder block.

Remove the front cover from the cylinder block.

Secure the oil pump drive chain tensioner with the T40011 dowel pin (Fig. 6–11).

Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the chain tensioner.

Secure the oil pump sprocket from turning with a special device and unscrew the sprocket mounting bolt.

Remove the sprocket from the oil pump shaft together with the chain.

If necessary, remove the drive chain sprocket from the crankshaft.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

When installing the chain drive sprocket, the marking on the sprocket must face forward.

When installing the oil pump sprocket, the marking on the sprocket must face rearward.

Install the front cylinder block cover.

Diesel Engine Oil Pump 3.3L

Remove the lower section of the oil pan.

Remove the oil pump drive chain.
