Oil pan and oil pump of 3.3 L diesel engine: 1 – bolt, 10 Nm; 2 – lower part of the oil pan; 3 – bolt, 10 Nm; 4 – oil pan damper; 5 – oil pump sprocket; 6 – bolt, 34.5 Nm; 7 – gasket; 8 – bolt, 10 Nm; 9 – front cover sealing gasket; 10 – threaded plug, 22.5 Nm; 11 – sealing ring; 12 – crankshaft sealing ring; 13 – thrust ring; 14 – oil pump chain drive sprocket; 15 – oil pump drive chain; 16 – bolt, 10 Nm; 17 – chain tensioner; 18 – oil pump; 19 – bolt, 30 Nm; 20 – mesh filter; 21 – inlet pipe; 22 – retaining ring; 23 – crankcase ventilation return hose; 24 – sealing ring; 25 – oil drain plug, 50 Nm

Fig. 6–9. Location of the electrical connector for the engine oil level sensor (1) and the return hose (2) of the crankcase ventilation system
Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil level sensor (Fig. 6–9).
Place a container under the engine to collect the engine oil.
Drain motor oil, loosening the oil drain plug about half a turn. Place a container to drain the oil under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug completely. If necessary, apply pressure to the plug while unscrewing to prevent the oil from draining prematurely.
When the oil has completely drained, screw the plug back in.
Remove the return hose 2 of the crankcase ventilation system (see Fig. 6–9).
Remove the bolts and remove the lower section of the oil pan.
Use a plastic or wooden scraper to remove the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the upper and lower sections of the oil pan.

Fig. 6–10. Place where a 3 mm diameter layer of silicone sealant is applied to the mating surface of the oil pan
Apply a 3mm bead of silicone sealant to the oil pan mating surface (Fig. 6–10).
The sealant layer should be no more than 3 mm in diameter, as excess sealant may get into the oil and block the mesh filter.
Install the lower section of the oil pan onto the engine.
Tighten the mounting bolts first to 5 Nm and then finally to 10 Nm.
Fill with coolant.
Pour into the engine motor oil.
3.3L Diesel Engine Oil Pump Drive Chain
Remove the front cover from the cylinder block.

Fig. 6–11. Location of oil pump drive chain tensioner mounting bolts on a 3.3L diesel engine
Secure the oil pump drive chain tensioner with the T40011 dowel pin (Fig. 6–11).
Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the chain tensioner.
Secure the oil pump sprocket from turning with a special device and unscrew the sprocket mounting bolt.
Remove the sprocket from the oil pump shaft together with the chain.
If necessary, remove the drive chain sprocket from the crankshaft.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
When installing the chain drive sprocket, the marking on the sprocket must face forward.
When installing the oil pump sprocket, the marking on the sprocket must face rearward.
Install the front cylinder block cover.
Diesel Engine Oil Pump 3.3L
Remove the lower section of the oil pan.
Remove the oil pump drive chain.

Fig. 6–12. Location of oil pan damper mounting bolts
Unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pan damper (Fig. 6–12).

Fig. 6–13. Location of oil pump mounting bolts
Unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pump (Fig. 6–13).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Install the oil pump drive chain.
Install the lower section of the oil pan.
Upper section of the oil pan of the 3.3L diesel engine
Remove the back cover.
Remove the oil pump.
Remove the left and right turbochargers.
Remove the oil filter bracket with heat exchanger.
Unscrew the bolt and remove the guide tube for the oil level indicator (dipstick).
Remove the boost pressure limiting valve.
Remove the power steering hydraulic pump.
Remove the left engine mount.
Remove the left coolant pipe.

Upper section of the oil pan of the 3.3 L diesel engine: 1 – guide tube for engine oil level indicator (dipstick), 10 Nm; 2 – sealing ring; 3 – oil pump drive chain; 4 – bolt, 34.5 Nm; 5 – chain tensioner; 6 – bolt, 10 Nm; 7 – sealing rings; 8 – bolt, 32.5 Nm; 9 – cooling system pipe; 10 – bolt, 10 Nm; 11 – oil pump sprocket; 12 – oil pump; 13 – bolt, 10 Nm; 14 – lower section of the oil pan; 15 – bolt, 10 Nm; 16 – pacifier; 17 – bolt, 30 Nm; 18 – bolt, 14 Nm; 19 – boost pressure control pipeline; 20 – bolt, 10 Nm; 21 – back cover with sealing ring; 22 – gasket; 23 – Upper section of the oil pan; 24 – gasket; 25 – front cover; 26 – bolt, 10 Nm; 27 – crankshaft oil seal

Fig. 6–15. Location of the bolts securing the upper section of the oil pan of the 3.3 L diesel engine
Unscrew the bolts securing the upper section of the oil pan and remove the oil pan (Fig. 6–15).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
New sealing rings and gaskets must be used during installation. Apply a thin layer of AMV 188 001 02 to the gaskets.
Use a plastic or wooden scraper to remove the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the upper section of the oil pan and the cylinder block.

Fig. 6–16. Places of application of a 3 mm diameter layer of silicone sealant to the mating surface of the oil pan
Apply a 3mm bead of silicone sealant to the oil pan mating surface (Fig. 6–16).
The sealant layer should not exceed a diameter of 2–3 mm, as excess sealant may get into the oil and block the mesh filter.
Install the upper section of the oil pan and secure with bolts.
Install the oil pump.
Install the back cover.
Install the lower section of the oil pan. Tighten the mounting bolts evenly diagonally.
Install the oil filter bracket.
Install the right and left turbochargers.
Pour into the engine motor oil.
