Disconnecting the catalytic converter and muffler (Audi A2)

To replace the catalytic converter or rear muffler separately, there is a place for a connector in the connecting pipe. The cut location is marked on the exhaust pipe with a groove. Unscrew the heat shield of the exhaust system "arrows".



Cut the exhaust pipe at a right angle at the joint "2" using the chain pipe cutter "VAS 6254". During installation, install the fastening sleeve "4" between the marks "1 and 3".



Install the fastening sleeve so that the bolts are positioned horizontally "arrow". The threaded connection faces downwards. The bolt thread faces the left side of the car. Tightening torque: Fastening sleeve: 23 Nm.
