Remove the clamps securing the protective cover and slide the cover from the hinge onto the drive shaft.
Thoroughly clean the inside of the hinge and remove the circlip from the inside of the hinge.
Screw special tool 3207 into the pivot shaft and remove the outer pivot from the drive shaft (pic. 10–5).
Remove the circlip, gasket, and Belleville washer from the end of the drive shaft.
Fill the inner joint with grease.

Install the disk washer on the drive shaft with the convex side to the hinge and the intermediate ring (pic. 10–6).
Install a new snap ring on the drive shaft, secure the shaft in a vice with soft jaws and a soft hammer, press the joint onto the shaft, while the lock ring should clearly fit into the groove on the inside of the joint.
Install the protective cover on the hinge and secure it with clamps, having previously lifted the inner edge of the cover with a screwdriver to equalize the air pressure under the cover.

To fasten the clamps, you must use tool 1683 (pic. 10–7). Place the jaws of the tool on the corners of the clamp clamp and tighten the jaws with the screw in this position.
