The rear window defroster is a plurality of horizontal conductors sprayed onto the inner surface of the rear window.

To locate a break in the heater wire, connect one lead of the voltmeter to the positive terminal of the heater and move the other lead along the heater wire from the negative terminal of the heater. The point at which the voltage indicated by the voltmeter drops to zero is the break in the heater wire (Fig. 18–70).
