Adjusting the windshield washer nozzles

Adjusting the windshield washer nozzles

1. The direction of the windshield wiper nozzle jets can be adjusted using a 0.8 mm needle. To do this, insert it into the nozzle and point it at the mark on the glass. Service stations use a special tool for this, for example, HAZET 4850–1.

Warning: If the stream is not adjustable or comes out unevenly, the nozzle must be replaced.

2. The nozzles can be cleaned with compressed air. To do this, remove the nozzles and blow them out with a hose.

Warning: Do not blow through nozzles against the direction of flow.

1. Using a soluble marker, mark 4 points on the windshield where the jet should touch.

2. The dimensions for adjustment are shown in the accompanying illustration.

Warning: The dimensions given are measured from the side of the water collection bar –1– and from the bottom of the additional cover –2–. The dimensions are anticipatory values for a moving vehicle. This means that the nozzles on a stationary vehicle produce a slightly offset spray pattern.

3. Remove the cover –2– and adjust the nozzle. 3 – wiper brush, 4 – ceramic element.
