Electronic units in the engine compartment (Audi A8 D2)

The engine compartment contains the engine control units, the automatic transmission and the system for maintaining a constant vehicle speed (cruise control).

Loosen the screws and remove the ventilation chamber cover located at the rear of the engine compartment.

Unscrew the four mounting screws and remove the electronic unit casing.

If necessary, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the required unit (Fig. 18–3).

To disconnect the connectors, use special tool 1922 (Fig. 18–4).

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
